This is not the first time I’ve tried getting into a regular blogging habit. This is the 1st time however that I control my own blog server :D, we’ll see if the creative freedom and control translates into posting here a bit more often!

This post is an important one to me. It’s a reintroduction of sorts of myself to myself and to you the audience.

My name is Riccardo Viglianisi, I’m a veteran Microsoft Integration Developer having cut my teeth on Microsoft BizTalk and in time moved my skills and craft into the Microsoft Azure Cloud - where I work primarily in Azure Integration Services. I’ve had a lot of hats in my career, Software Developer Engineer In Test, Developer, Consultant, and now - CTO and recent co-founder of Zure UK alongside my good friend and mentor Rik Hepworth.

With that last one comes a new set of opportunities for growth, new challenges to rise to and doubtlessly new mistakes to make and learn from. The company motto is Roar at Challenge, and to that I say bring it ;).

I’m setting myself 2 challenges for the remainder of this year:

• The first is to stop being a professional recluse. Start blogging and talking about what I do day to day in my career (because it’s not just a job). One post per month at least.
• The second is to get back in the habit of presenting on stage, submit and present at at least one conference session this year.

This blog however isn’t purely just going to be about work - I’ll equally be using it to share what I do with my hobbies, so if you’re a Magic The Gathering or D&D addict, follow along. Sometimes there will be crossovers with the technical content!
